The deeper meaning of "You are what you seek"

From Black Soot.
"What became of last night's promise?
You broke it this morning!
But why should I care?
I can conquer the world with a blink,
I can heal a broken heart with a smile.
O heart, make your wish —
The gifts are ready,
The King is waiting with open arms.
The light of His Face is shining upon you.
I never heard a King say, 'Wait till tomorrow, then I'll give you everything.'
Has dim light ever shown from the face of a full moon?
Where are the favors?
Where are the wise men?
Where are the open doors?
Where is the Revealer of Secrets?
The answer is: 'Right here!'
They are here, from the beginning to the end.
So it says, 'You are what you seek.'
Enough talk from me.
I have died at the Beloved's feet.
No, I am wrong —
One who gains life through Him can never die.
When the King's reflection dances upon the earth,
mud and stone come to life,
Brittle tree laugh,
Barren women give birth.
If His reflection can do this, imagine what the light of His Face can do!
It is the brightness of every thought,
The light animating every soul,
The source of life from the Sun to the fourth heaven.
But one can only know the taste of salt by sprinkling it on his food.
What a wonder!
The Beloved is in love with the lover.
What a miracle!
From black soot grows a paradise."
"What became of last night's promise?
You broke it this morning."
In the peace of quietude you understood everything. The mind swore it would never forget.
In that moment did you think you were done?
The mind cannot keep its promises. It can't stop moving; can't still itself. Because the mind is not the cause of anything. It is only an effect. It is not in charge of what happens next.
It's quite absurd to think that the mind somehow has more sway than the laws of physics. And only in this little bit of space; this little body.
Let the mind go through its movements.
"Why should I care?
I can conquer the world with a blink.
I can heal a broken heart with a smile."
Just blink. In that blink, where is the mind? Where's the world?
In your own experience, in that blink, where is the world?
Only in imagination. You surmount it.
Every blink gives you the chance to surmount the mind.
A simple smile, a softening of the heart, and The Way is open.
"O heart, make your wish.
The gifts are ready,
The King is waiting with open arms.
The light of His Face is shining upon you.
I never heard a king say, 'Wait till tomorrow, then I'll give you everything.'
Has dim light ever shown from the face of a full moon?"
Truth does not depend on time. Reality does not change based on any practice, any events in any lifetime.
In broad daylight you are seeking light. Discarding the beauty of the full moon, you desire a piece of moon rock.
"Where are the favors?
Where are the wise men?
Where are the open doors?
Where is the Revealer of Secrets?
The answer is: 'Right here!'
They are here, from the beginning to the end.
So it says, 'You are what you seek.'"
There's no need to wait for events and conditions to be fulfilled. There's no practice that can make it happen, no waiting for the mind to be still.
Where do all these experiences take place? From where is life being perceived? Where does Realization take place?
This unfathomable expanse in which this life is being lived out, that is You.
To the mind that is the Glorious King. To the heart that is the Beloved.
But really, truly, that is simply What You Are.
You are what you seek.
There's no waiting for tomorrow, no waiting for the disturbances to go away.
So, you can find yourself in a blink,
With a softening of the heart,
In that inner smile.
"Enough talk from me.
I have died at the Beloved's feet."
Give up the persona. Lose yourself.
What is left?
Only what you seek.
And you are what you seek.
Die to your 'self' and You are free.
But no,
"I am wrong — one who gains life through Him can never die."
There never was a separate self. No insentient object ever turned sentient.
Sentience Itself is the Beloved.
The One who lives, who is sentient, aware, that One can never die.
"When the King's reflection dances upon the earth,
mud and stone come to life,
Brittle create laugh,
Barren women give birth."
What animates these 'living things'? What makes them alive?
You see plants rising from the earth, The dead trees of winter springing back to life. From dead matter rises experience — all these minds.
And these are just the reflections of the Light that you know so intimately.
"If His reflection can do this, imagine what the light of His Face can do!
It is the brightness of every thought,
The light animating every soul,
The source of life from the sun to the fourth heaven."
What is this reality that you're living? What makes this experience real?
The true Light is this Awareness. This Sentience. This is what makes everything possible.
Everything is a reflection of this Light.
And the knowledge of being aware is Self-Knowledge; Self Realization. The knowledge of being one with the Source of life.
"But one can only know the taste of salt by sprinkling it on his food."
That is how you know. That is how you are capable of knowing. That is why you have this capacity to perceive.
Through this capacity is revealed What You Are.
From stardust to a living planet. Ashes to living forms.
In the gloom of these minds, always a single ray of brilliant light — The Self-Knowledge.
I Am.
Aware.
Present.
From the failures of this life to this Realization.
Consciousness is in love with its expressions!
"What a wonder!
The Beloved is in love with the lover.
What a miracle!
From black soot grows a paradise."
"You have two hands, two legs, and two eyes,
But if your heart and the Beloved are also two, what good is that?
You call out, I am the lover, but these are mere words.
If you see lover and Beloved as two, you either have double vision or you can't count."
